Former dacoit Malkhan Singh joins Congress as Madhya Pradesh elections loom

Former dacoit Malkhan Singh on Wednesday joined the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, ahead of the state assembly elections. Malkhan Singh, a notorious figure in the Chambal region for over two decades, had surrendered in 1982. He predicted the BJP's downfall in the Gwalior-Chambal area in the upcoming polls after formally joining the Congress in the presence of party leaders Kamal Nath and Dr Govind Singh. Nath accused the state’s ruling BJP government of “spreading fear” during its extended tenure and expressed confidence that the people would vote against it.
