The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), led by former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, on Wednesday revealed a roster of nine contenders for the Chhattisgarh assembly elections. Notably, the BSP will compete independently on all of the state’s 90 Vidhan Sabha seats - a departure from 2018 when it had allied with Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J) and the Communist Party of India (CPI).
In the previous elections, the BSP had secured two seats, including Jaijaipur and Pamgarh, while achieving a vote share of 4.27 per cent.
