All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Telangana Congress In-Charge Manikrao Thakre has dismissed rumours suggesting that Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar would take charge of the Telangana elections.
Thakre clarified that Shivakumar would instead support the Congress during the election campaign in Telangana, similar to how Congress Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from other states would visit to strengthen the party's prospects.
Speaking at a media conference in Telangana’s Nalgonda constituency, Thakre highlighted the success of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Bhatti Vikramarka's efforts in energising the Congress and boosting the morale of party members and the public in the state.
Thakre also raised concerns about the lack of action from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah regarding alleged corruption, scams, and irregularities during K Chandrashekar Rao’s nine-year rule in Telangana. He further alleged a secretive alliance between the BJP and the state’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi government.
